Individual Therapy with Sealing Cove Counseling

Individual Therapy

Individual Mental Health Therapy: Your Path to Healing and Growth

Life can feel overwhelming sometimes. Whether you’re grappling with stress, anxiety, depression, or simply trying to make sense of your emotions, individual mental health therapy offers a safe, personalized space to work through difficult emotions. We believe that everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and empowered to live a fuller, more abundant life.

What Is Individual Therapy?

Individual therapy is a one-on-one process where you collaborate with a trained therapist to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It’s not about someone “fixing” you—it’s about you gaining the tools and insight to navigate life’s challenges with confidence. Sessions are tailored to your unique needs, whether you’re facing a specific issue like grief or trauma, or just seeking clarity and personal growth.

How Does It Work?

We start by getting to know you. In your first session, you’ll share what brings you here, and we’ll listen—really listen. We'll be asking you questions and you can feel free to ask your own questions as they arise. From there, we’ll work together to set mental health goals that feel right for you. Sessions typically last 50 minutes and can happen weekly or as often as fits your schedule. Using evidence-based approaches like Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, or talk therapy, we’ll help you uncover patterns, build coping resources, and move toward a happier, more fulfilled life.

What Can Individual Therapy Help With?

No two journeys are the same.  Individual therapy can support you through a wide range of challenges, including:

  • Anxiety and Stress: Learn to quiet the noise, calm your thoughts, and find peace amid the storm. You'll learn about your own anxiety symptoms and the causes of your triggers.
  • Depression: Rediscover hope and energy, resourcing, and understanding symptoms of depression. You'll also learn about resourcing to stay within a calm window of what you can tolerate.
  • Chronic Trauma: Trauma that happens one time or for many years can impact us in different ways. Trauma is defined as an event that causes a real or perceived life threat.
  • Relationship Struggles: Gain perspective on how you connect with others or how you struggle to attach and feel close to the ones you love.
  • Life Transitions: Navigate changes like career shifts, loss, or new beginnings.
  • Sex Therapy: You'll learn more about sexual dysfunctions and how to have a more pleasurable experience with the one you love.

              YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
